CBSE - Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi

CBSE is an eminent board preparing the syllabus for class 9 to 12 schools affiliated with it. Besides schools run by the Government, there are many private schools within and outside school affiliated to CBSE.

The CBSE curriculum relates to ‘Learning by Doing’. This syllabus makes it convenient for the students to opt for Pure Science, Medicine, Engineering and IIT. Besides, most successful students of competitive examinations, IITJEE, KVPY, Science Olympiads, Mathematics Olympiads are nurtured by CBSE.

Its motto when translated from Sanskrit is – ‘Oh God! Lead us from untruth towards truth.”

The Chintels School, Kalyanpur branch is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi (CBSE). The school follows the Ten plus Two (10+2) Pattern of Higher Secondary Education Scheme of CBSE.

Major Activities & Objectives

The Central Board of Secondary Education was set up to achieve certain interlinked objectives:

ICSE - The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ICSE) has been designed to provide an examination in a course of general education, in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986, through the medium of English.

Key Features:

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination will ensure a general education without any diversification of studies as all candidates are required to enter and sit for six subjects and Socially Useful Productive Work.

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination is a school examination and the standard of the examination pre-supposes a school course of ten years duration (Classes I-X).

ISC - Indian School Certificate Examination

The Indian School Certificate Examination has been designed as an examination, through the medium of English, in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986, after a two-year course of studies beyond the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Year-10) Examination or its equivalent.

Key Features:

All candidates must enter and sit for English (compulsory), with three, four or five elective subjects and must have been evaluated internally by the School and secured a pass grade in Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service (compulsory).
